The Reason for the Peloponnesian War

June 21, 2007

I’ve never posted a video on this blog before, but there’s a first time for everything. Here is theorist/philosopher Slavoj Žižek talking about why loves theory:

Via the Continental Philosophy blog.

  1. That was really interesting. I like how he said that he should just die if he didn’t do theory because he felt it was his responsibility to serve. I can relate to his not being able to just watch a movie. I don’t make a theory of it, but I do have a problem that if it is a movie of pure entertainment I feel as though it is a waste of time. There needs to be purpose. Not very relaxing, I’m afraid.

  2. Spoken like a true Eastern European! 😀
